Peggy has been an active member of the 1st District as well as the 6th District.  She was member of the Benton Woman’s Club from 1988 to 1996 where she held numerous positions including President.   After moving to Lexington she joined the Suburban Woman’s Club, holding all elected positions in her club, and chairman of most departments.  She received the Outstanding Club Woman of the year Award from her club in 1999 and in 2003 received the Betty Reilly Award.  Peggy has served her district as Governor and Vice Governor, as well as the Regional Registration chairman and Regional Convention Chairman.   Peggy has served Kentucky as Chairman, as well as Treasurer 2004 – 2006, 2nd Vice President 2006-2008, 1st Vice President 2008-2010, and President Elect 2010-2012.

 

Peggy has had a very fulfilling career in the insurance industry, which she started in 1976.   After having her son, Dustin, in 1981 she joined Peel & Holland Insurance for a 15 year career with this organization.

 

In 1996 Peggy and her husband Joe moved to Lexington and purchased Bush and Boggs Insurance, now known as Kentucky Insurance Group, one of the largest privately owned agencies in Kentucky.  She was the IT / Operations Manager until April of 2011 when retired.

 

After only a few short months Peggy took the position with KY Pink Connection as the Western KY Director for this Lexington based non-profit.   In December 2012 she was offered a part-time position with Cambridge Insurance as their Marketing Manager. 

 

Peggy is a member of the Blue Grass Association of Insurance Women, serving this organization as a Treasurer and a board member.  Peggy has received several special honors from her fellow club members over the years –Outstanding Club Woman of the Year in 2009, W.E. Kingsley Award for Education in 2009,  Communicate with Confidence, speak off winner in her club / State of Kentucky / Region IV / and competed on the National Level in 2009 & 2010.

 

Peggy is very active with her church, Broadway Christian in Lexington and is currently serving as co-chair for the Woman’s Ministry Department, and is very active in her Woman’s Circle group who serve at God’s Pantry once per month.  She and Joe are involved in a Small group that meets once per week.  Peggy works alongside her husband who is currently serving as Chairman of their Elders.

Susan Alexander, has been a member of the Woman’s Club of Marion, in 1st District, for over 25 years, where she has served as President, Vice President and International Chairman.  Susan has held the elected position of GFWC Kentucky 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President and Recording Secretary under the previous 3 administrations, and has also served as Governor, Vice-Governor, and State Chairman.

 

Susan currently serves as Resident Director of the Fohs Hall Community Arts Foundation, is affiliated with the School Community Arts Partnership Program, and is a past Board Member of theFourRiversArtCenter.  She has been recognized by the National Faculty for her partnership with the school arts program, and has performed and directed various stage productions.  She currently serves as Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and Marion Main Street Manager.

 

Professionally, Susan is a retired dental auxiliary.  She works to improve health care in the area through her association as a charter member of the West Kentucky Board for HIV Prevention and as a board member of theLivingstonCountyHospital, as the only woman to serve in its 50-year history.

 

Susan is married to Mick and they have one son, Max.  She is also blessed with a beautiful and intelligent granddaughter.  She and her family are life long members of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In addition to Susette’s work with the Morehead Woman’s Club in 8th District, she  has held the position of President, President-elect, Secretary, Parliamentarian, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, and numerous chairman positions.  On the state level, she has held the elected position of 2nd Vice President, Governor, Treasurer and State Chairman.

 

As a graduate ofMoreheadStateUniversity, Susette received a Master and Bachelor of Arts.  She has held several positions atMoreheadState, includingUniversityCenterand Conference Services Director.  She has served on numerous committees and is currently serving on five other committees atMoreheadState.  She is also a member of the National Association for Campus Activities, where she has served on several boards, as well as a variety of regional and national positions.  

 

Susette is also a member of many professional and social organizations and has been recognized with numerous awards including the National Association for Campus Activities Founder’s Awards, the highest recognition given by the Association.

 

Susette is married to William (Bill) and they have two children, 15 year old Deveney and 28 year old Brett, who teaches 7th grade math and is married to Emilee.

For over three decades, Missi McCoy has been a member of GFWC Kentucky, is currently a member of Helping Hearts Junior Woman’s Club and previously the Somerset Junior and the Ashland Area Junior Woman’s Clubs. As GFWC Kentucky Director of Junior clubs for two terms, Missi focused on public affairs and veterans issues and in 1994 was selected as Outstanding Junior Clubwoman forKentucky.

 

Missi serves on the GFWC Board of Directors as the Public Issues Collaboration Chairman, and has served as Director of Junior Clubs, Director-elect of Junior Clubs, Public Affairs Citizenship Chairman among other positions.  On the state level, Missi served as GFWC Kentucky District Junior Director, Junior Secretary/Treasurer, District Secretary/Treasurer and Vice Governor, and has served the Junior membership on every committee and/or department.

 

Missi was born in easternKentucky, has a paralegal degree fromMarshallUniversityand was chosen for Ashland Community Leadership Program and Leadership Tri-State (coveringKentucky,West VirginiaandOhio).  She worked for G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers and Ashland Oil and has been a nationally certified motorcycle safety instructor for 17 years.  She is co-owner of KY Motorcycle Safety Institute, where she works to raise awareness of motorcycles and promote safety classes.

 

Missi’s philosophy is “There is always someone, somewhere, that needs your help.  Get out and find them”.

As a member of the Lexington Woman’s Club, Beth Hill has served as Club President for two separate terms, and Finance Chairman and Treasurer for the past four years, where she made significant enhancements in computerized records, therefore providing more detailed information to club members.  Beth has also served in over twenty positions in her club, many of which were for 4 years.  As part of the Bluegrass Junior Woman’s Club, Beth held the office of Newsletter Chairman, President, Fundraiser Chairman and Outstanding Young Woman Award Chairman.

 

Beth has also served on the State level for GFWC Kentucky, on the Budget & Finance Committee for six years and as Budget Finance Chair for two years.  She served as treasurer for two years and was appointed as acting Treasurer in 2011.  Beth also served on the Credentials Committee, held the position of Arts and Crafts Chairman, Home Life Chairman, Convention Chairman, as well as the 6th District Vice-Governor and Governor.

 

Beth has owned several businesses, in the past, and is currently employed by M’s Canvashouse, where she assists with purchasing stock and setting up for national needlework conventions.  She was also bookkeeper for a local private school for 18 years where she was in charge of collecting tuition and paying all bills.   Beth has been married for 40 years to her husband Greg and has two sons and four grandchildren.

Previously the 1st District Governor, and a member of the Murray Woman’s Club, Pat Harrington has also served as a Department Chair, Club President, Chairman for various Governors, and held all appointed and elected offices at the district level. During her first term as Governor, her district won the Outstanding District Award.

 

She is currently the Home Life Partnership and Collaboration Chair, has held state positions of chairman of the Club Presidents’ Advisory Council and the Public Affairs/ Community Safety program.  Pat was chosen as the Outstanding KFWC Clubwoman for 2006 and was appointed asKentucky’s representative to the SER Fundraising Committee.

 

At the Mayor’s request, Pat co-wrote the application that resulted inMurraybeing named the 2008KentuckyEnterpriseCityof the Year for towns with populations of 15,000 to 40,000.  She serves on several boards inMurray, and her chairmanship resulted in national recognition forMurrayandCallowayCounty.  She was named Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.

 

Pat received her master’s degree from MurrayStateUniversity, and owned a freelance court reporting company for over 20 years.  She was the official court reporter for the 42nd Judicial Circuit for 10 years. Pat now oversees the financial portion of the county attorney’s office.

 

Pat is a wife, a mother and a grandmother.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Theresa McFarland

Theresa McFarland has been Federated since 2000 and is a member of the Bluegrass Junior Woman’s.  In GFWC Kentucky, she has served as Director of Junior Clubs Elect, 6th District Junior Director, GFWC Junior Special Projects Chair forKentucky, Website Chair, and Junior Conservation Chair.

 

Locally, she served the offices of President for two separate terms, 1st Vice President, and 2nd Vice President.  Theresa has also served as club chairman for Conservation, Gala, Community Volunteer Coordinating, New Member Project, Hospitality, Newsletter, Ways & Means, Yearbook and Email Tree.  She also serves as a Vice President of the South Lexington Youth Baseball League and Treasurer of the Equestrian Woods Maintenance Association. Theresa regularly volunteers at her children’s school.

 

Originally fromWisconsin, she moved toKentuckyin 1998.  She is a stay at home mom and enjoys youth baseball, shopping, dining, wine, horseracing and being with family and friends.  She has been married to her husband, Peter, for nearly 15 years.  They have two sons Joey 10 years old and Brady 7 years old.

Wendy is a member of the KFWC Barbourville Junior Woman’s Study Club.  But she’s not just a member.  Wendy started  the club in 2007!   She says her club volunteers many, many hours to help better their surrounding community.

 

Wendy began volunteering by serving as Conservation Chairman and then became Corresponding Secretary in 2009 to 2010.  She started serving as Treasurer in 2010 and continues this role currently.  In 2011, Wendy served on the state level as the KFWC Junior Conservation Chairman. 

 

Wendy is married to David Thompson, who is the Mayor for the City of Barbourville.  She owns her own business, Tiny Tot's Child Care, is Manager of the Barbourville Water Park, and Coordinator for the City of Barbourville for PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In a Desirable Environment, KYpride.org), a program that gets volunteers to go out to help clean up road ways and dumps, while working with recycling.

 

Wendy also coaches the KCMS Dance Team, along with raising four teenagers, Candace Thompson, Lanedon Gambrel, Adam Gambrel, and Torri Thompson.

 

Wendy says “I really have a heart for volunteering, working with families with needs, and children who are being left out because of a  world of drug abuse in homes.  I have a big heart, I’m caring and strong, and would like to make a positive change in someone life!”
